Airline launches music channel to engage its pax(?)

Breaking Travel News:

“London airline CityJet has launched its own music channel in association with MBM Records.”

I can think of so many reasons why it probably shouldn’t have.

For starters, there are so many variables in the overall passenger experience that can be “tweaked” — yet, CityJet chooses to address it as so.

Just by simply comparing it with another airlines’ (full-fledged) IFE offering is enough to put such an exercise’s viability in doubt.

Interestingly, CityJet named its music channel ‘OnAir’ — the same name used by a renowned in-flight Internet service provider.

Short-sighted.
